See, the people from the palliative ward keep throwing these studies at our rounds that show people are much happier accepting their imminent deaths & using what time they have left to achieve goals that are important to them, rather than to grasp at false hopes.

They show these studies showing patients living longer & with a higher quality of life when pursuing less aggressive treatment options with no chance of cure. It’s apparently less distressing for everyone involved - patient, family members, healthcare providers.

I’ve always had my doubts though. I don’t think it can work for everyone. Many will see it as defeatist, I imagine.

I can’t imagine what it’s like going through that. I’m so sorry you had to.
