Insulate Britain protester jailed for stopping traffic on M4

Well we're pretty much at the point where everybody in the UK could stop doing everything and it wouldn't make a difference- as a country we've already made a huge contribution to lowering our impact on the environment and it will continue. What these posh, rich types don't understand is we can't all afford to nip out and buy new cars or take the train to work- it's just too expensive at the moment for either.

As someone who rarely goes on holiday I also question whether they have the backing of the majority of people. You only have to look at airports on the first day of half term to see hundreds of thousands of people jetting off for a week in the sun. Many thousands of students and young people still want their gap year (or 'travelling') round the globe to find themselves. IMO these are the very people the protestors should be targeting, but instead they choose the average person going to work and lorries that provide deliveries that can't be performed in any other way at the moment.

Problem is as soon as you mention stopping jet travel they all lose their shit, apparently that's fine it's my car that is the problem. Turns out all the eco warriors love jetting off to look at jungles or taking trips to Africa to look at elephants... They just don't like it when we go to work.
