Communism/Socialism is a failure because it involves people. Before you invoke a retort referencing some Logical Fallacy, Either system is broken simply because people have wants/needs/desires.

They're nice CONCEPTS, but they don't take humans into the equation. You would have to kill every single person who wasn't interested in participating willingly in the system, so the system would work.

So in a perfect world, where people who aren't interested working collectively toward a goal don't exist, corrupt leadership doesn't exist, and within either system you fulfill all needs of the people and their wants are granted, then sure, Communism and Socialism work fine.
