What is your point? a record quarter for AMD is what Intel spends on coffee and office supplies.
While a $2B quarter for AMD might be a record - compared to almost $20B during the same period at Intel.
1 good quarter does not make the business solvent - when you can't afford a real R&D Dept then you will have nothing.
During this record quarter - AMD sold $1.93B - after expenses their net income (gross revenue - expenses, in essence their pre tax profits) of $157M
Nvidia during the same quarter spent almost $700M on R&D and Intel spent close to $3B (on a wide range of projects).
So while that big $157M is good for AMD - compared to it's competitors - it's a joke - and it 's the best they have done during the entire Ryzen era
AMD without R&D will fall further and further behind. Zen is aging and no replacement in sight - their 6900XT Big Navi is mid range - Nvidia 3070.
AMD is a corporation - they do not care about you, they are a business - without sales they cannot perform R&D - without R&D they cannot compete. Nvidia is the undisputed king of GPUs because they saw the opportunity to use GPUs as compute accelerators and developed that market - and had a $2.8B R&D budget to make sure they were on top. This is how business works.
