Intel presented, stating that Russia has "compromising information" on Trump.

I agree, huge grain of salt.

Reasons it makes sense: Trump has had a really weird relationship with Russia. Like, why even praise them so much if he truly had nothing to do with them. He didn't even do it for any real strategic reasons, neither party liked Putin before this election and I think it hurt him more than help. Remember when he asked Russia to hack the US? Reminds me of like your little brother being a bad lier when you guys are making up a story for mom and totally blowing it. And why double down constantly rather than issuing some statement saying 'fuck Russia I don't care about em' like most would do? *This is possible. It could happen. The world is a weird place full of weird shit. *There have been enough rumours and talk about this circling around that this doesn't seem like a simple flash in the pan conspiracy theory that dies down. We all saw the hacks, someone did them, it makes sense for Russia a lot more than 'some kid in his basement'. *It seems like even serious Republicans are involved with this. Also it seems like there is a lot of serious talk going on in Washington right now. This doesn't exactly *feel like partisanship.

Reasons why not: *C'mon. Let's not fall victim to fake news. Russia cultivated Trump for 5 years to run for president by blackmailing him with knowledge of his lewd sex acts? And it worked? This sounds like Infowars talking about Obama. How would they even know this would work, and would it even benefit them all that much? It's a far stretch. *There is no proof. That's important. *Why wasn't this discovered earlier. If these documents have been circling around for a while why didn't Clinton get ahold of them and put them out. Why is this only happening now. *The Russians almost certainly hacked the DNC to get Trump elected. Let's not get carried away and begin to believe that means they were in collusion or there's blackmail or whatever. Maybe Trump just got lucky that the Russians liked him. Maybe he defends Russia cause he's an idiot.

We'll see but this is awesome. Politics is so fucking interesting right now. I hope it's true just for the drama.
