Way to generalize over 1 billion people lol. You’re correct, dogs may not be viewed the same in some areas. But it’s so weird to generalize a huge country with many different types of people - there will be animal lovers and haters everywhere. Culturally yes, most places in East Asia may not view them exactly the same as your country. But trust me when I say that there are plenty of people who adore their dogs and cats in China just as much as you do. Many rural families do own dogs as well, especially if herding cattle or working around the farm. So saying it just “doesn’t exist” in China is a huge overgeneralization. This is also very obviously not a rabid dog, and the sellers likely don’t want dog hair all over their produce for the next customers.
