Your example of pricing is also when Dinosaurs still roamed in the Net.

Either way paying "$50 for streaming tv" saves me money. My last 2 years with Spectrum/TWC on a bundle was $150 a month, I could get no cheaper unless I went with "basic cable" that had like 30 channels of crap, I was on the lowest internet tier and lowest cable tier not considered that basic/select.

When I dropped cable and with with YTTV at the time $45 bucks, and I got a 1 year promo on internet (200) for $45. So $90/month. My internet has now bumped up to $60/month, YTTV $50/month. So still save ~$40/month for now, I also had no DVR with cable and a few channels I do get now I didn't then because each of their tiers of course 2 different ones were $12/month each.

As mentioned by others, it's also fees. HD Box / DVR box-service, Spectrum charged $5 for wifi if you used their equipment, broadcast fees, local fees, some charge regional sport fees, mafia fees.

"$50 for streaming tv" has benefited me.
