International flight next to a non-verbal autistic 10 year old child

It's not just lack of information - so many well intentioned people have nuggets of group long term homes, etc. etc. that just don't apply for particular cases, like individuals who wander, or run away, or don't always follow verbal commands, or frequently act "wiggy" with no apparent reason. So, you find out about these dozens, if not hundreds, of "options" in your city and state which just don't apply to your kid(s). And people feel like they've done so much for you by telling you the name of two or three organizations that you've already thoroughly investigated to come up with a "sorry, we don't have anything for that type of need at this time... call us if you're ever in extreme crisis."

There is a lot of "help" out there, but there's also a tremendous amount of mis-match between needs and services. If your kids are medicated to a docile state, there are a fair number of options available, otherwise, not so much.
