Interpretations of the Jedi and Sith code

Let me remind you that it was the Republic who was responsible for the greatest genocide of all time: the Sith Holocaust.

It was the Republic and the Jedi who tried to murder half the galaxy for the crime of being even remotely related to their enemy.

It was the Republic that sentenced a Cathar prince and all his followers to lifetime inprisonment for the crime of protesting the Republic.

It was the Republic that was conducting Nazi experiments on prisoners on their planet sized concentration camp.

It was the Republic that made hereditary life time inprisonment a thing.

It was the Jedi who exclusively recruited toddlers and indoctrinated them into never shutting up about how all Sith are evil and need to die.

It was the Jedi who sent a thirteen year old girl to fight in the bloodiest war in a milenium.

It was the Jedi who led millions of slave soldiers to their deaths.

And I'm not even talking about some of the other shit they pulled like the Padawan massacres, the Pius Dea crusades, the Huk War, the Xenocide of the Ubese during the New Sith Wars and the casual use of mind rape.

Yep. The Jedi did try to remove a democratically elected politician because he was guilty of war crimes, murder, assassination, and was a criminal by every definition of the word.

Of which the Jedi didn't have a shred of evidence, or even a suspicion when they plotted their coup.

The Council, approved your appointment because Palpatine trusts you. They want you to report on all his dealings. They have to know what he's up to.

They want me to spy on the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic? Obi-Wan, that's treason!

and

Mace Windu: I sense a plot to destroy the Jedi. The Dark Side of the Force surrounds the Chancellor.

Ki-Adi-Mundi: If he does not give up his emergency powers after the destruction of Grievous, then he must be forcibly removed from office.

Mace Windu: It will be tricky. The Jedi Council will have to take control of the Senate to ensure a peaceful transition to a new goverment and a new leadership for the Republic.

Yoda: Hmm. To a dark place this line of thought will carry us. Great care we must take.

The only thing they could accuse him of was being a Sith, which was perfectly legal in the Republic at the time.

You're a Sith Lord!

Am I? Even if true, that's hardly a crime. My philosophical outlook is a personal matter. In fact—the last time I read the Constitution, anyway—we have very strict laws against this type of persecution. So I ask you again: what is my alleged crime?
