INTP and Physical Fitness

INSPIRATION I'm INTJ/INTP, and I remember the first day I wanted to grow up and be STRONG. I had just finished kindergarten and was moving from CA to GA. We stopped at a gas station for hot dogs. I saw a man in a military uniform putting relish on his hot dog. I admired his strong arms and asked Mom to skip the ketchup (which I didn't like--usually just mustard) and put on relish. I loved it.

TRAINING Fast forward to middle school. I was never athletic, and mom wouldn't let my try basketball, so I picked up running laps around the yard (we have two acres). Dad made us do sit-ups and push-ups while watching television. In high school, I ran track and cross country, got admitted to USNA, ran there, did some triathlons, ran some marathons, became a US Marine, and got into lifting. I was so happy when I pumped out my first set of 14 pull-ups.

THE FALL Ended up with an eating disorder as a way to deal with stress/not feeling anything after being raped and then pressure to get married. Was sent to rehab. Discharged from the military. Became a personal trainer just to study more about the body and nutrition.

REIGNITING THE FIRE STRONGER I found my way back to a healthier relationship with running, lifting, and eating. I feel much more confident and happy with my workouts and my body. I just signed up for another half marathon today!
