The hard thing to learn is that you have to start trusting people to get a good idea at who you can trust. We all need different things out of our relationships in general, not necessarily romantic ones. Sometimes you trust and get hurt, sometimes you trust and get "rewarded" by finding exactly what you needed.

Not everyone is looking for the same thing out of a relationship. I couldn't tell you what that idiot really needed from someone. To be fair, I'm not sure even he knew. I hope for his sake he evolved. I'm confused by anyone who treats others simply as a distraction. When I interact with someone, it means something to me. It's important to me to know I'm valued that way as well.
