Introduction post

hey! I am keeping detailed accounts of everything i can by hand in a notebook. I would be glad to take a picture or two of the notebook for you to get an idea of what Im doing.

I also have a sheet showing everything you need to track in order to deduct mileage on your taxes next year. Let me just find that and I would be happy to share it here.

I have done a lot of reading and it seems that the best route to take on taxes is to deduct milage, rather than accounting for all expenses (gas, depreciation, etc.) because the IRS will reimburse I believe its .56 cents per mile driven. And you can only deduct for one or the other, meaning either mileage or expenses. I talk to many other drivers and have been told repeatedly that the mileage deduction is enough to cover the cost of taxes owed.

By the way, when you see other drivers around feel free to direct them to this forum! Ive been handing out little cards with the link when I see drivers around my city but it seems like im not getting much traffic here yet. I would really like to build the community!
