Introverts of Reddit, what sounds like a fun date to you?

I still don't get how people try their first date at the cinema. Like, what are you gonna do? Watch the film?

To be fair, you could always talk about it afterwards. But as bad as this is on principle, it can be made even worse by picking the wrong movie.

One of the worst first dates I ever went on was with a woman who suggested we see Amour-- I agreed without looking it up first, which was a huge mistake. By the end, I was absolutely emotionally destroyed. Holy shit! Beyond depressing...I just felt numb. Devastated, really. It's a great film, but has to rank as one of the worst first date movies in the history of cinema. lol

All I wanted to do was go home and be alone to regroup--but she insisted we go out for drinks at a noisy bar. The fuck? How can somebody sit around making cheery "getting to know you" small talk after something like that? I went through the motions, but my heart just wasn't in it. If we were that different, there's no point.

These days, I won't go out of my way to "date" anyone who's not into something I'm already interested in for its own sake. I'm much happier reading a book in the park and eating a falafel by myself than going to some four-star place with someone it's a chore to talk to.
