Yeah they have not been honest or forthcoming with us. We found out recently that peace corps secured our 1 month visas for Mozambique during our staging in Philly. When we left our families to head to staging (and to depart to Mozambique), peace corps still didn’t have our visas. We had no zero idea until recently that this was the case. Really alarming to think how close we were to not even leaving the states. I think the only way to get peace corps to be honest with your cohort is to really force them and make this information widely known to the other invitees. I’m proud to be a PCV, but I’m not a fan of Peace Corps these days. They’re being super super deceptive and should have never invited your cohort since they can’t even figure out what to do with the cohorts they currently have.
