when you change the password and name. the wifi has to do a reset.

so this is a long and complicated way of turning it off and turning it on again.

If you have network errors it is best to completely turn off every device and turn them all on again.

I know every once in a while my computer says it is connected to my phone but it gets no data. so first i disable internet shareing and then enable internet sharing. this fixes it 90% of the time

if this does not work. then i turn off my phone and turn on my phone. then i enable internet sharing. this fixeses it another 9% of the time.

then if it still does not work. i restart my computer. this fixese it another 0.1% of the time.

the last bit is ususally because i installed or disabled a program on my computer. I guess you are saying you installed an update. thus if you have turned everything off and on again and still have a problem.

what happens is some times during the tcp/ip handshake there is an error. and the device does not catch the error. so turning everything off and on again will make it do the handshake again and ususally a second time there would be no error
