[IP] From my window

It was quiet.

So very quiet.

But then again, it had always been.

Peony gazed at the array of jellyfishes, bluish nearly transparent alien-like creatures with seaweed for legs. They seemed to wave at her as they danced past the window to the depths of the ocean. Then another approached, seemingly materialising from nowhere as it came towards her.

Now, she waited with bated breath.

It entered through the window and the window seemed to ripple like a puddle as it passed through. She could feel droplets of ocean water fall on her skin as its head almost bumped her. The jellyfish came to the center of the room and glowed a light blue as it floated like an ethereal being, producing a soft luminescence.

Now, the jellyfish had its own light show, spinning and spinning, then falling and zipping back up again. Peony was dazzled beyond belief as another joined it and they twirled like lovers, the colour of the azure sky, she imagined, projecting on her dark walls.

Then, as soon as they came, they stopped and floated back out again.

Peony followed, her feet scraping on the floor. She perched on the sill and her eyes followed their silhouettes as they disappeared into the void.

Peony imagined the sky again, vast and free. Like the ocean, it stretched for miles without care and her heart ached as she thought about it. She touched her shoulder blades, feeling the rough scars that crisscrossed like a valley and looked out again.

She hoped another jellyfish would come again.
