Iran protests: 12 killed amid demonstrations that saw attempts to storm police stations and military bases, state TV reports

Last time a foreign, USA led uprising happened in Iran it led to the emergence of the Shah Mohhamed Reza who was by any measure a much much worse leader than the current Government.

Iran should be allowed to evolve into a democracy at their own pace. You cannot break the government and existing structures of security and governance and expect to rebuild a culture, organizations and rules of democracy that Europe and USA fought several hundred years for. It's been proven in Iraq, in Libya, In Syria and many other places where ill-devised interventions were launched.

Any potential military invasion or revolutionary overthrow will only lead to a worse situation for the middle east in general and specifically 70 million Iranians, who despite not having much of a voice can slowly affect change, like USA did, Like Europe did. Europe and USA were both not very democratic and didn't care a lot about human rights once upon a time and yet the people were still able to change their government without some aliens or foreigners giving them a shove in a certain direction. Before democracy existed and individuals held power, who helped the people create a new system? Themselves, just like Iranians can.

The best you can do is be a good example.

We've had all the time in the world to get to this place. A democracy. I suggest you show Iran some leniency and allow them to evolve at their own pace. Anything else will just lead to more people suffering and more people dying in the name of ideology. You'll create another Iraq or Syria and you'll have the blood of millions of people on your hands.
