Iranian women during the 1979 Iranian Revolution [720 × 480]

A)

This is a talking point that some love to use. Do the math. $800 would go to each person if oil money wasn't spent on roads and hospitals and schools.

let me explain what a growth of a growth is.

year HDI HDI growth Derivative of HDI growth
2030 1 - -
2031 1.5 +0.5 +0.5
2032 2 +0.5 0
2033 3 +1 +0.5
2034 3.5 +.5 -0.5
2035 5 +1.5 +1
2036 13 +8 +6.5
2037 21 +8 +0
2038 35 +14 +6
2039 51 +16 +2
2040 71 +20 +4
2041 99 +28 +8

See between 2039 and 2041 what's happening? The rate of growth is increasing. In the link I provided, you'd see that Iran's derivative of growth is increasing, not simply growth,

B) Rouhani is one of the architects of the IR, the theocracy. It's simply political theater. The Iranian president has NO authority whatsoever. He can't do shit, and that is assuming he even wants to do shit (spoiler alert: he doesn't he was one of the four people hand picked by the lead theocrats). Look at his presidential responsibilities.

  • Leader of the executive branch of government and chairman of the cabinet
  • The deputy commander-in-chief of the military of the Islamic Republic of Iran
  • Declare a state of emergency suspending all laws or enacting a state of martial law
  • Head (Presided) of the Supreme National Security Council
  • Head (Presided) of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution
  • Appointment of First Vice Presidents
  • Nomination of Cabinet members to the Parliament
  • Sends and receives all foreign ambassadors
  • Issue executive orders
  • Issue medals in honor of service for the nation
  • Issue presidential pardons

1) doesn't mean shit. refusing to enforce a law will result in him getting impeached the next morning.

2) Deputy commander-in-chief also doesn't mean shit. Anyone of his orders can he overturned by the actual commander-in-chief. Guess who's actual commander-in-chief.

3) Martial law you say? Guess who controls the military?

4&5) Head of the Supreme National Security Council? Guess who the council reports to?

6) Vice president doesn't mean shit. Same responsibilities, or lack there of should I say, apply for the vice if the president bites the dust.

7) That have no actual power, except issuing visas are important to you

8) Guess who can overturn anything the Parliament does and in fact liberally does so since no political pressure exists?

9) Issue executive orders that can be overturned by guess who?

10) Issue medals in honor of service for the nation. Umm great? I guess?

11) Issue presidential pardons which can be overturned by the judicial branch... Guess who appoints the supreme court?

The president can be thrown out in 7 seconds if the Rahbar wants it. Look at the god damned 'conditions' for being president?

  • Iranian origin;
  • Iranian nationality;
  • administrative capacity and resourcefulness;
  • a good past record;
  • trustworthiness and piety; and
  • convinced belief in the fundamental principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the official madhhab of the country.

Do you want to guess who get's to decide what "administrative capacity and resourcefulness" and "convinced belief in the fundamental principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran" mean?

Read the Iranian constitution. There's a fucking clause (Article 53 I believe) that mandates that the government must protect the environment from anything that might harm it... The constitution incredibly vague for a reason... The judicial branch decides what it's supposed to mean. Do you want to guess who runs (or appoints should I say) the 'justice'. And yes, 'the' Iran doesn't have multiple people in its highest court, just one dude: long beard larijani (not long tah-rish larijani). And guess who has the authority to throw out long beard larijani and replace him at any moment?

Come on man, you're smarter than this. This is all political theater, just like 09. Founding fathers of the theocracy don't want actual reform. The thing is though that the Iranian people are stupid enough to think that the mere act of putting a piece of paper in a fancy box is what constitutes a democracy. It is not. Rounani, according to a documentary Ahmadi fans made, was who first proposed to mandatory hijab. Look at his history for god sakes, not bullshit statements to appear democratic.

Iran has incredibly high voter turnouts for a reason. They put 4 turds on a table: 3 pieces of vert stinky human turd, and a dried human turd, and ask the public to choose which one they want to eat. Then they say "don't know, looks like the sticky turd is going to win the vote like last time". The people reply "NO No no. Please, lets just please have the dried turd and not another sticky turd. I beg you". Then the government films people doing what they can to not have to eat the sticky turd and plays "ay Iran" over it and brags about the 80% voter turnouts and calls itself the only democracy in the middle east.

But at the end of the day, you're still eating shit.

Nothing is going to change unless actual reform takes place. Iran needs the titanic to sink, not its deck chairs to be re-arranged. All these 'reformist' are extremely loyal to the government, it they weren't, they'd be one of the other +200 people aren't allowed to run for office.
