ISIS lost its capital today

Hey, I'm aware even some "muslims" take these verses out of context, and ISIS has done so as well, but I think it would be wiser to condemn the person and not the faith in this case, no?

With regards to your other points, I'm honestly not an Islamic scholar so I'm not infallible, but I know for a fact that Islam has never advocated the killing of innocents in any context so I would really need your source because literally everything I've learned about Islam since childhood has said the opposite of that.

As far as most of your other points, I would have to say that while I can admit that there are Muslims that would rather live in the past, Islam was meant to be an ever evolving religion (because it was meant to be the last one according to our beliefs). And God intended it to continue to evolve with the times. I don't know about regressive nations like Saudi Arabia, but while there is still a social stigma for going against ancient traditional beliefs, please know that things like "killing apostates" and "stoning adulterers" is not something that we advocate. We are trying to push aside the past and bring forward a progressive vision of Islam.

(sorry for the long reply -and I hope I didn't fudge anything up because I learned this stuff in Arabic and translation is a pain)
