Depending on the Superman timeline, this is not bullshit. Goku, while incredibly powerful, is canonically far less powerful than Superman at his peak (known as Superman Prime). Superman Prime is, for all intents and purposes, effectively the strongest and most powerful being in the DC Universe (which is already a universe known for having insanely "overpowered" heroes). Superman Prime is capable, for example, of moving entire planets based on his own strength and no external aids, can travel and live within a sun, and has even ascended to other dimensions and survived the destruction of entire realities. The issue here isn't that Goku isn't amazing, it's that Superman (and Superman Prime) is so canoically overpowered that it makes comparisons moot. Based on their respective canon, Superman Prime would snuff out Goku without breaking a sweat, simply because, according to their canon lore, Superman Prime is effectively God in terms of his abilities. This leads us to another "problem" with Superman. He's really only ever "beaten" because of his internal struggles or moral issues with using his full power. Once he solves that internal debate, he wins. It makes for a rather flat character, which is perhaps the primary criticism of DC's Superman in the context of his universe. He is so incredibly powerful that the only thing that ever stops him is himself. The bottom line is that Superma is canonically as strong as he needs to be, whereas Goku has clearly defined limits in his respective universe. Superman beats Goku because Superman will always be strong enough and fast enough to beat his enemy; Superman has no defined limits. Goku does, and it's not a fair fight.~They're fictional characters
