Why isn't communism as hated as nazism?

[conservative]

However the debate between fascism and communism has more to do with the ideologies formed by Hitler and Marx. And if you look at it through that lens its pretty clear cut that Communism is better then fascism.

Ideologically? Probably. Mao killed more people than Hitler and Stalin combined though. Also aside from some very sick individuals, very few people argue for the implementation of fascism in any way. I wouldn't defend it in any way just because it technically killed less people than communist regimes - yet people don't seem to have the same sort of squeemishness when talking about communism. Those who actually advocate for policies based on the ideas of national socialism put forward by Hitler are rightly ostrachized by society and comprise a incredibly small segment of the population. Communism, in my opinion, should be viewed equally as abhorrent unless direct steps are taken to disassociate onesself from the actions of those who have tries to implement such a system in the past, resulting in the deaths of many millions of people. Even then, I would regard them as warily as the alt-right fool who claims that his utopian white ethnostate would be acheived through purely peaceful means.
