Why isn't the US military being used to fight these fires? Isn't the military supposed to protect the homeland? Is this a "stand down" by the military? (Dozens of deaths, thousands of structures burned to the ground)

I'm from Canada.. Was wondering about these fires down there yesterday. How a government can spend billions on WAR, but things like this, they seem to be powerless and do nothing. Or it's like they don't even "care" and go, oh well, leave it all burn.

Why is that? They'd need a bunch of those water bomber planes or something. Would probably cost a lot. But look at what they spend on wars in the past.

What's the difference. Well, you've got the military industrial complex, where some companies who get contracts make the money. You know the guys who run those companies are buddies with politicians.

Those same companies could probably build the water bomber planes. That's not part of the war game though. Where do you draw the line for what kind of equipment you build.

What about things like after a hurricane hits. "George Bush doesn't care about black people". This sort of falls into the territory of being a "nice guy" instead of how the war machine is for protecting yourself from a foreign invader.

It seems kind of "wrong" though to spend that much on war but they pretty much ignore these fires that keep going on every year.

How about a few years ago when there was that oil well on the bottom of the gulf that kept spewing out friggen oil for what, months. They're totally powerless and it's like, "oh well". Really seems a lot like this, doesn't it. No equipment to deal with odd things to fix the problem.

What the hell's going on over there? Not their job? Something's "fishy", eh? Seems a bit "nefarious" the way the government doesn't fix these problems where it's spoiling the earth or something. Not their job.

Some places get equipment to do snow clearing. Well, that state which has fires would have to get water bomber planes. I'm sure some states have those planes.

So what's going on here.. maybe California should get some of them.

What you're getting into is the war machine.. that's more national than regional. I guess they can't really get involved.

But what about when there's "trouble".. like think about those ice storms years ago, where they had to call in the military. Or if you get a huge snow dump.. then they call in the military.

For these fires though.. they probably don't have those water bomber planes. Doesn't fall into the war category where it's being a good guy for your country, instead of killing people.

You'd think the country as a whole would have some of them to send out to places which get these damn fires every year.

Up here in Canada, I'm sure each province has got some of those water bomber planes.. Let me take a look at what we got..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadair_CL-415

"In 2018, there were 165 in-service CL-215 and CL-415s in 11 countries"

That's quite a bit of them. But who owns them.. is it the "government", to be of service to their country in case there's a problem? Maybe if you were a private company and owned some, they'd call you up if there's trouble. Then they don't have to suck up the costs when they break down. But, would they government call you up. Down there in the states sounds like oh, not my department, or it's like, "who cares". Seems "wrong".

What's going on down there.. ya got none of them? Maybe you should get some. Spend a penny compared to what you dump on the war machine. Cause we keep hearing about these damn fires every friggen year. Yet they always do nothing about it. They go "oh well". Why is that?
