-Water quality, the internal actuator/cartridge has tiny holes at the bottom that can easily get clogged. Not sure if that specific one has a filter under the cartridge, but that can also get clogged up. The same as a aerator clogging up.

-Minimum 20psi water pressure needed for closing function to operate (also through those little holes). Possible severe pressure drops going below minimum coinciding with times of use. Clogged mixing valve or water lines.

Could be a bunch of things, but none that can be determined without you actually opening up the device, inspecting cartridge/filters and/or measuring pressure.

You just chucked the entire thing off and then asked if other people had the same problem.

It's a mechanical product, there will always be a reason why it stops working as it should.

If that wasn't the first one to go "bad" then inspect them and find the problem.
