Italy reports 566 new cases and 5 new deaths, raising total to 1,694 cases and 34 dead

My uncle almost died from pneumonia in late december after getting sick in a cruise ship in Asia from an "unknown" virus (along with a good chunk of the cruise ship).

He was an asshole/sociopath and paid as a visit at the airport when he was sort of recovered (still had coughs though) to say goodbye to my brother who was going to Canada for a long while.

I was fine, or at least asymptomatic. My brother was sick for a week and both my parents for like 2-3 weeks. I suspect the unknown virus given the region, symptoms and timing might have been covid-19.

If that's the case I think it's beyond containment at this point and the only reason we don't have more cases is because they're not testing it. My parents and I called the public health service and they didn't give a shit (I assume with reason since they're the experts) because it was more than 14 days ago.
