Italy’s Embrace of China’s ‘Belt and Road’ Is a Snub to Washington

Actually the discussion by Italy isn’t a bad one. If you were to take into consideration the countries who will be part of the Silk Road will control at least 60% of the worlds trade.

The big question is once completed, how will the countries in the Silk Road trade with one other and with countries outside their zone? Will there be no taxes or tariffs? If not, who would truly benefit the most from the Silk Road? My guess, China.

There is another component happening which isn’t spoken about much. It’s China’s predatory lending practices. Currently there are a number of countries who are really screwed by taking loans from China. Sri Lanka is a prime example, Pakistan is another.
