ITAP of a rainy night

It was raining quite significantly that night (and straight into my lens, I spent so much time wiping it from drops and weird light halos) so I wanted to recreate the same feeling I had while taking the photo.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you appear to be disingenuous. Looking at your IG page, you have many other images made in this same exact style. So I think it would be more accurate to say that you went out to shoot with the intention to create images with this "feeling", rather than just being in these environments and then deciding to recreate the feeling afterwards. This may seem like irrelevant nitpicking, but your intentions matter, IMO.

It is one thing to say, "Oh I was in this amazing situation and felt the need to recreate it afterward to capture the feeling", when in reality you knew what you wanted before hand and went out to find it. When you aren't totally honest about your intentions it takes away from the authenticity of your work, at least in my opinion. If you are completely honest about your intentions, I would feel more of a connection with your work and with you as an artist.

I say this as an amateur photographer myself. I almost alway shoot with post processing in mind. I honestly feel that photography is essentially two parts: about half is capturing the image, and the other half is developing and presenting it, however one decides to do that. I feel that developing/post processing is an artform and skill in itself, and I appreciate it as much as I do that capturing process. I also feel people should be completely honest about their intentions and how they went about their work. I am not saying you are dishonest, but you do come across as just slightly deceptive.
