I've been commuting on the Metro for 2 months now. Here's my experience.

Oh man, I work at highly repressed company in LA, but coming from San Diego, it feels still so barbaric here in the office. Undercurrents of that ol Hollywood BS (or Mad Men-esqueness, which I realize is NY), and the more recent but still old model chasing BS, it’s creepy. The whole Elizabeth Holmes voice changing thing from that dropout documentary…guys always talk about how creepy that scene where Amanda Seyfried is practicing a more authoritative voice, but most women that work in offices seem to totally understand that part. I’m never my cute self at the office, but I resent having to act colder but still figure out how to not be hated in that environment. I end up being that ass from San Diego, that doesn’t kiss everyone’s ass in my LA office, but feels like that holds me back…because I’m actually really good at my job, better than most of my peers, but I would be mortified if I acted like myself and started getting hit on…can’t handle that.
