'I've done nothing wrong': Utah nurse's arrest prompts police apology

Hospital policy is based on the law. What's more by restating the policy and not committing to a firm answer she covered herself frustrating the detective in the process. His game plan was to have it both ways in getting the blood sample and having the nurse take the fall for his actions. It's obvious he was experienced in this switch and bait game. Lucky for the nurse as the patient was a police officer himself and she would have been a) fired and b) never been able to work again after all the law suites where said and done with. By calling his supervisor to make an unwarranted arrest he mistakenly thought he'd have the supervisor take the fall for his actions. By all appearance this cop had been getting away with this stuff for far too long and arrogantly thought he could get away with it at a major hospital affiliated with a large university. Now he's in deep trouble for interfering with the professional ER staff and critical operations of that hospital. Now it's the hospitals turn with their powerful board and legal team to teach the guy a lesson job, pension and all
