I've just been diagnosed with ADHD. It may be 5M better off had I been diagnosed as a child.

What is mistaken here a lot is that I'm not bitter about the money. I have enough to live but with ADHD it's hard to really grasp the value of it. I'm bitter than that vanity left me undiagnosed for at least an extra 20 years.

I can see how people in their 20s right now are scared of saving and buying a property and getting a deposit was very hard. But I'd be surprised if properties every really depreciate in value.

I only bought my proprety in 2013. I paid 150k and would estimate that it would be 180-200k now if I had left it as it was.

It's rural and was very run down and only had 2 rooms we could actually use when we moved in. My spouse loves to do DIY and it's something she is good at managing me to be productive in as well.

We effectively invested into a plot minus demolition cost but invested around 50k (probably a bit more but we only kept track when remortgaging to add a guest house). The last valuation was 400k.
