I've just started calorie counting and it's almost scary

I will say that a big part in cutting calories is learning volume eating - focusing on lower calorie foods that meet your nutritional needs and fill you up for longer.

For instance, rather than three eggs and coffee, I have a slice of wholemeal bread, tablespoon of avocado and a soft boiled egg on top. If I'm still hungry, I'll have sliced fruit as a side (or morning tea). With a black coffee, this rolls out at 300-350 cals.

Another option is 2 slice bread, light cream cheese, baby spinach and smoked salmon OR ham. You can comfortably roll this in at 320 cals.

Even scrambled eggs, remove the yolks from two eggs and use the whites. Cut the butter and use skim milk sparingly- you'll drastically drop the cals and keep most of the taste.

I share these as my go to breakfasts to give you some hope, you can definitely lower your calorie intake and continue to enjoy tasty and filling foods.
