I've never seen one of those 5.45X39mm AK pistols in the wild. Why the fuck can't we have our 7N6 back?

Dude, no one is fending off the Russians in Ukraine. Our involvement there is limited to just hundreds of support specialists: flying drones, electronic warfare, counter-artillery and sappers - under strict orders not to directly engage the Ukrainian government military and paramilitary forces. If we wanted to take over Ukraine, we would be in Kiev in two days. It's not that we are that good, but Ukrainians are simply that awful, selling off or not maintaining all of their shit for over 20 years, not training, not paying officers living wages, etc. I've personally seen how Ukraine's Soviet strategic arms reserves were pillaged by everyone with a buck or two back in the late 90's. Fortunately (for US gun owners), those reserves happened to be awesomely huge and there's still plenty of Soviet surp shit to pillaged over there once things quiet down. Any way, our armor, artillery and air superiority over Ukrainians would be absolute. As it is, we are just giving the people of Donbas a chance to win a future free from Ukrainian control or at least a partial autonomy. There are plenty of "bad guys" in the current Ukrainian leadership and Donbas, which just like Crimea was always different from the rest of Ukraine and had separatist inspirations since the break-up of the USSR, simply happen to like us better than they do Ukrainians or the West, especially after the way that Ukraine has been fighting this war (by indiscriminately shelling cities). Sadly, Ukrainians learned nothing from our own cluster fuck in the First Chechen War. Any way, believe this or not... I am just telling you what I know from multiple contacts in the Russian military, family in Crimea, friends from Donbas, etc.
