I've seen a lot of fake XXV players lately.

Before people cheating their level was a common occurrence, you could easily deduce my full name and the state and suburb I live in just through comments friends made on my profile.

When people started checking profiles for cheaters, I had to request all of my friends stop posting on my profile and deleted all of their comments, so as to stop random people from finding out my identity. Occasionally people will forget and post comments with identifying information to my page, and now that I have to keep my profile public, I have to keep track of them and delete any comments that reveal any information about me.

On top of all that, it enables people to look at your Steam inventory. Personally, I don't really have any interest in trading on Steam, but since I have to keep my profile public I get fairly regular friend requests from people wanting to purchase my hats or DotA2 cosmetics.

Basically, in order to prevent people accusing me of cheating my level, I've had to open myself up to a lot of other annoyances that otherwise wouldn't apply to me.
