Ive tried a plethora of nootropics. Here's my two cents.

Withdrawals and dependency from phenibut various a lot from person to person, so what is true for you may not necessarily be true for everyone. Just wanted to point that out - but you're more than likely to experience some kind of withdrawal by using phenibut too frequently.

I've quit a 3 weeks daily "binge" at 2.5g a day with about 2 weeks of tapering: I began by dosing every other day, instead of everyday, at 1.5g. This was enough to keep the anxiety and insomnia away, due to the carry over effects from the day before.

After 6 days I began dosing every third day at >1.5g. On the third day I could feel the groggyness and slight anxiety creep up on me, but nothing too bad. I did this for 9 days ( 3 doses), while decreasing the amount of the dose towards 1g. My sleep wasn't great, but I didn't have sleepless nights.

After that I quit completely. I had one night of insomnia and 2-3 days of groggyness, brainfog and increased anxiety. Nothing "hellish". I used a low dose propranolol to take the worst of the anxiety. After those three days I was more or less back to baseline.

After that I quit using phenibut for a couple of months, until I realized that it's actually the best substance I've ever tried for dealing with anxiety. I've had generalized- and social anxiety for ~10 years.

The conclusion was for me to begin daily dosing again at a sensible amount. So currently I've been daily dosing phenibut for 5 months continuously at 1g, and I haven't had a single thought of anxiety since starting.

It can be used therapeutically, but for recreational use it's important to not use it too often, otherwise you're asking for trouble.
