Hey, I don’t know what the protocols are in the UK, but when I did my first round of IVF my doc put me on the highest doses of stim meds and it basically wore my ovaries out and I only produced one follicle and my cycle got canceled. I felt like that was the end, because if I’m on the highest dose and it’s not working…then what??

On the next go around, they started me on growth hormone injections really early on and then I did gentle stim with no FSH—menotropins only, while continuing growth hormone injections. That round, I retrieved 7 eggs, and by the third round (we started the growth hormone ever EARLIER) and I developed 15 follicles and retrieved 9. We got two blasts and finally have a health male embryo in the freezer waiting for transfer.
