Ivory Coast says chocolate traders failing to pay farmers living wage premium

honestly i feel like this is such an obscure comment in such an obscure thread that it wont even matter.

im just consumed by angst bc this is my country and we're treated like fleas in our own home.

i cant really describe how much this hurts me. hurts my ego, my sense of justice, my sense of self, my conception of who we are as a people and what the world is as a whole.

its just brutal and i cant dwell it long w/out crying about it. kids are dying bc we're too weak and our leaders too corrupt to care about the lives, the land, the resources that even give us an identity.

im heartbroken. i want better but im just one person and i feel so weak and helpless.
