Absolutely worth it if you want to: 1. Switch locations 2. Switch industries 3. Switch job functions 4. Switch into a specific set of typically very high paying career paths that have structured recruiting processes and are hard to get into outside of that (banking, consulting, rotational programs, etc.) 5. Bored / lost career-wise and want a professionally acceptable two year “break” 6. Your company will pay for it

I did it and tripled my income right away, but I moved locations, functions, and industries to do so. I also found it very fun and very interesting.

My take - if you get into HBS or GSB you should go in 90+% of cases. M7 you should definitely go if you’re in one of the above 6 situations. Beyond that, the value is less clear to me unless it’s a strong school regionally and you want to live in that region.
