IWTL: How to carry on a conversation

Ohh well fuck man... that sucks. I used to be like you. Actually,I still am sometimes. I got a job as a busser at a popular restaurant and had terrible social anxiety; I wouldn't attempt to talk to guests and certain people I worked with I would avoid. Social anxiety sucks so I became determined to come out of my shell and motivated by the money and lifestyle to become a bartender. I set goals to become more outgoing so management would notice I was engaging the guests.. It was as unnatural and awkward as it sounds... It's hard at first. Just try to keep the conversations somewhat normal and not to deep at first. If you don't know what to say try leading the other person into saying more. You'll begin to feel more comfortable once you realize not every conversation is going to be funny/informative/interesting... you won't always click with everyone, nobody does. Then after you've had countless conversations with mindless hoards of people you almost begin to not give a shit. Then it gets easier and easier. It just takes practice. Get a job in a restaurant for a couple years or some other socially driven occupation, you'll learn real quick how to bull shit with people.
