J. Miles Dale urges Disney CEO Bob Iger "not to mess" with the specialty films branch of 21st Century Fox's entertainment division

Disney's main focus is producing big blockbuster movies and not indie films like what Comcast's Focus Features and 20th Century Fox's Fox Searchlight Pictures are doing. If they care about indie movies so much, they would have used Touchstone Pictures a long time ago. It is also the sheer amount of box office and market power that Disney is using to force unfavorable terms on local theaters for its films and has intimidated and the members of the free press (e.x., Los Angeles Times and against critics who simply rate negative opinions on their movies, even if it's the smallest criticism). Add the major film studio 20th Century Fox into Disney's powerhouse, and Disney would gain 40-45% of the box office market shares and would use it to continue its previous ways. No sane person would agree to give the Mouse more power than it already has.
