Jack Antonoff, Polarizing Nice Guy “He’s annoyingly, inescapably, maddeningly…. everywhere.” — Pitchfork

I don’t get the Jack hate. Has he actually done something wrong or are people fussy because they think a male producer is working with the pop stars girlies and ~infringing on their creative territory, or some such nonsense?

Of all the male producers to get upset about it Jack seems the most…boring. “Polarizing” how? He’s your average-looking East Coast hipster who genuinely seems to like and respect women. He does a great job at producing music in his roundhouse: synth heavy, 80s-inspired, up-tempo bops with a few ballads here and there.

I dunno if it’s either fair or accurate to claim that he’s everywhere either. As others have pointed out, he’s only oversaturated if you solely listen to a core group of female pop artists.

Surely it speaks more that feminist, artistically hands-on, and outspoken women like Taylor and Lorde continue to work with him? Like, evidently he’s an OK guy.
