Jack Ma (CEO of Alibaba) gives the best advice on how to be successful in LIFE

There is only one correct answer to how to become successful and I will give it to you as it was given to me:

Think small and don't invest in businesses, invest in people. Don't quit your job and run off to make the new Tesla. Don't set your goals high but be smart about it. Don't try to be the next billion dollar corporation but don't get stuck making pizzas either just because you love pizzas. Instead save up your money, find something small and affordable that can earn you a little cash safely and at a steady stream, and then a trustworthy person that can run that business. This is the single best and most achievable recipe for success.

Personally I own a kiosk, a bicycle shop, a bed and breakfast, a car dealers, an import company where we mainly buy cheap trinkets from China and sell them to local stores and online... plus some properties. My background however is in restaurant and tech sales and I'm not passionate about any of my businesses. What happened is I met a serial entrepreneur that owned several small businesses himself and wanted me for one of his projects as an equal partner which seemed weird at the time as I had nothing to offer financially. And then I did the same and bought the kiosk because my nephew was looking for a job and had zero qualifications and smokes way too much weed but is a great people person. The bicycle shop came about because a friend was into bikes. My mom and sis runs the bed a breakfast. A friend was into american classics so I asked him what he needed. The import business is run by a friend who spends his life in front of the computer and always knows the best prices on tech stuff and what to buy etc and I figured he'd be a good candidate to scour the web for bargains.

Me, I'm doing little to nothing because I'm at the top of the pyramid. I'm not rich but I make a comfortable living with upper middle class standards and savings/property on the side. And all these people make good, better than they otherwise would have, because they are partners. I've not turned 40 yet and I could retire today and live off the the rent from the properties (which is the next step up from small businesses: buy some rentals instead of letting your money rot in the bank. My first was a small house, not an apartment building, next to a ski resort), and all because I didn't aim big. Now this guy is talking about retiring at 60+ and he owns the fucking thing that allows one of my tiny businesses to run. That's crazy...

So think small and invest in people. You wont become a millionaire but it's easy to get to the level where you don't have to work yourself and that is real wealth. Any dummy can do this, which I am a perfect example of.
