Once upon a time there was a little boy named Charlie, who was not stupid.

His dad, took him to the forest one day and said, "Charlie, today you become a man, take this knife and this compass and find your way home." Then his father left.

Charlie looked down at the compass, and turned off into the woods.

After a time, Charlie came to a stream and saw three slippery stones marking the way across.

"A spill, a slip, a hospital trip!" Charlie said to himself as he looked for another way.

After a time, a snake crossed Charlie's path.

"Red touch yellow, kill a fellow, red touch black, friend of jack!" Charlie said to himself as he waited for the snake to leave

After a time, Charlie saw a widowmaker leaning dangerously over the road.

"Be alert, accidents hurt!" Charlie said, as he walked around it.

After a time, a big ugly man came out of the bushes on the side of the road.

"Hey kid, what are you doing out here alone?" The big ugly man asked Charlie.

"I'm on an adventure, my dad left me here and told me to find the way," Charlie said to the big ugly man.

"We must be brothers!" The big ugly man said to Charlie, "My father did the same thing to me thirteen years ago. He's abandoned you, kid, but don't worry, I'll help you out, let's go to my camp."

The big ugly man knelt on the ground and offered to carry Charlie on his back. Charlie climbed up on the man's back, and the man started to walk down into the woods.

Charlie leaned over.

"You aren't my father's son, you liar," he whispered into the big ugly man's ear as he clicked open his knife, "if you were, you would know about stranger danger."
