I love Jake, but watching the replay, man it's hard not to see him seeking out contact. Lucroy was in front of the plate, where the balls gets to first, so therefore where you probably don't want to be. And he steps inside and simply trucks him. I don't think he wanted to hurt him, which is why he as genuinely upset after it happened. But if I had to bet a roulette on red or black: meant to run into / didn't mean to run into, I'd easily put my money on him intentionally initiating contact. I will say this, these guys have been running into catchers their whole careers, one simple rule change doesn't make them dirty at all, it just makes them a creature of habit.
