I spent a while thinking about this. So here’s my thinking:

The first possibility is that this guy has a non-traditional name. Which means it could really be anything. So assuming he has a traditional first name…

Maine is the only single syllable state (right?). So it could be something that rhymes with that. Jane is a name. But it’s a girl’s name. But it could be a name that’s more than one syllable. Jermaine is the only men’s name I can think of that works here, although it’s hardly a rhyme.

It could be a first name / last name type of thing. Such as the full name Jen Assee (but again, Jen is a girl’s name, and I don’t think Assee is a real last name). The only ones I can think of are the names Josh Ington and Jon Tana. But I’ve never heard the last names Ington or Tana before.

Going off this logic, it could be a first name / last name kind of thing with multiple syllables. So the name “John McClaine” rhymes with Maine. Or “John McCaine”. Or just “John Cane”. And at that point, literally any J name will work.

Another possibility is that this girl has no idea what a state is, and his name is something like Joss Angeles or Joss Vegas.

And then the last possibility is that this girl is just trolling.
