James Harden Gets Fouled On 3s More Than Any NBA Team.

In the context of a basketball fan which I assume most here are, then I assumed most would respect/admire a player who demonstrates skill in an area which is extremely beneficial for his team and legally helps them to win games (even if it's not aesthetically pleasing for them personally). How is 'getting to the line' regularly referred to as an attribute for a player but a player who does a better version of this is constantly criticized?

I just think it is silly how much it angers people - I can understand the frustration of him doing it to your team, but it takes two to tango and the vast majority of the time he has drawn the defender into the position from where he can do that and that is poor defending.

I was specifically talking about 'respecting' how effective the result is (2.55 points each time) and that it takes great skill to do (despite all teams placing focus on how to not get drawn into it he continued to catch poor defenders out) and putting aside the aesthetic value of his play which I understand most don't like. I can see I'm on the losing end of this argument so will stop now and perhaps 'respect' was the wrong word to use for what I was trying to express. Thanks for at least explaining your view rather than just downvoting.
