Japan: Drinking ban and curfew for US military in Okinawa after murder of local woman

You couldn't find anything on marines raping in Okinawa?

That's not what I said. There is a huge difference between crime stats and notable incidents that made the news. I was looking for statistics as I said because they would encompass all incidents which allows us to compare risk factors.

You're seriously hearing this for the first time?

No as I said I was replying to what you specifically mentioned.

What I said wasn't addressed by you in the least. Do you seriously think we can have a rational conversation without statistics? You seem to like assumptions while I like hard data you can actually work from. It isn't about the Okinawan response to marines losing their drinking privileges, what I brought up was if SOFA personnel are more dangerous than other men, I'm just looking for stats that say such. Yes sexual assault and murder happen, it's horrible, we agree but statistically are SOFA personnel more dangerous (in this context of rape and murder) than other men. This means per capita do more SOFA members commit rape and murder than other men? If not then the reaction isn't as simple as "this group did it so we limit this group". I'm all for a solution that considers the data. I didn't moan about anything let alone "a few bad apples".

How did any of this relate to the social standing you brought up in your last post or who he drank with?...still lost there.

I still can't find much in the way of reliable stats that separate out different crimes. If you can't either then we can kindly agree to stop the back and forth as I don't have much to say beyond the idea that I think rape is horrible and that whichever group that commits it the most should be addressed 1st and foremost. If that group is SOFA members absolutely have at it, if it's someone else go that way....I can't say much without actual statistical data on SOFA members and other populations in the area.
