In Japan movers neatly pack all of your things up and take photos of furniture placement and how things are placed on shelves. When they arrive at your new home, they place everything exactly as you had it in your previous home. In Japan, moving is an art.

The last two times I moved, twenty minutes into it I wanted to kill the movers and it was way more expensive because they wouldn't listen to my fucking instructions. I have a lot of computers. The last time I moved I borrowed someone's truck to move all my computers and movie stuff at once, while I hired movers to move all my furniture. The movers showed up, I pointed to the area containing all my computers and said "do not touch any of this stuff please. I just want you to handle big and heavy things, no electronics." Then I left them to it for 20 minutes, only to find they had done nothing but move all my computer towers to their truck baking in the sun and just sitting there open for anyone to steal. Fucking morons.

The time before that I was moving out of a place where I had roommates and the fucking morons packed the downstairs closet when I explicitly told them only take the contents of my bedroom. So as they were closing the truck I asked them to just grab all the coats they had hung up (I had no idea movers would just grab a whole closet full of coats and hang them up in the truck). What I didn't know is that the idiot mover had removed his shoes... he had to sort of clamber up to get the coats and he jumps down, landing with his sock foot on a sharp edge of the bedframe, which for some reason was underfoot... he gashed the shit out of his foot. I felt bad at first and then thought for a second... this stupid motherfucker took his shoes off in the middle of a move I'm paying him for, just how relaxed was he planning to get... was he trying on my shoes? I still smoked him up and then gave him a joint for later.
