Japan regulator reportedly looking into whether Apple secretly crushed an App Store competitor

They take a cut from things like Spotify subscriptions. They literally take a third of Spotifys monthly subscription cost just for ticking a box next yo your account name saying "subscribed". Same with things like in game currency with most games these days including fortnite, they take a third of the money just to increase the number of money next to your name.

It is security too but even if the security aspect disappeared they'd still keep it locked down just because of all the money they're getting. I get that Google and others do it too, even places like Steam. I think taking a third of net income from things like subscription fees and in game currency is just extortion. I'm fine with them taking a third from game sames but not subscription fees and in game currency.
