Japanese administrators during occupation of Malaya and Indonesia in World War 2

Sukegawa was a compassionate person towards my grandpa. My grandpa was arrested and tortured in Alor Setar for suspicion of collaborating with the resistance. So the night before the execution, Sukegawa wrote a letter or clearance and passage for him to secretly run away. However, the pass was only valid until Thailand but in the my grandpa managed to escape thanks to the colonel. Without his help, I would have never been born.

The reason behind his help was because in 1942 during the Battle of Midway, Sukegawa lost his son during a dogfight. Fortunately, my grandpa looked very similar to his deceased son. That's why he felt sad when my grandpa was tortured and he helped him escape.
