青銅器は古代中国の商(殷)、周時代に高度に発達した文化芸術の典型的な代表で貴族、特権階級の専有物であり身分の分限に依り青銅器の保有にも階級差がありました。
後世我が国に伝ってからも庶民には程遠いものであったのですが、加賀百万石の城主前田利長公が高岡に鋳物師を招致し自来三百五十年間、高岡に鋳造技術が発達し、近代に至り青銅器の製造が盛んになり、今や青銅器は広く大衆に愛好される様になったものにて、古い歴史の中から新しい時代感覚を生かした優雅なる工芸品として、他の器に比し珍賞されて居ります。

Bronze ware is representative of the culture and art that was highly developed during the Shang and Zhou dynasties in ancient China.
It ware was the exclusive property of the aristocracy and privileged classes, and according to the classification of status, the ownership of bronze ware was differentiated by class.
Even after it was introduced to Japan in later times, it was still far from the common people. However, Toshinaga Maeda, the lord of the castle of Kaga Hyakumangoku, invited foundry workers to Takaoka, and over the 350 years since then, casting techniques have developed in Takaoka, and the manufacture of bronze ware has flourished in modern times. Nowadays, bronze ware is widely loved by the public, and is prized more than other wares as an elegant craftwork that brings out the new sense of the times from the old history.
