Japanese Judo Conditioning

You can't change that and it doesn't really matter to me.

As I am training with international top Judoka for the last 10 years and do know them very well - both in Dojo and in private - I know they don't take steroids. I am not naive, I know more about steroids than most of the users on Judo reddit know. For an example I do weightlifting with them and there never were some rapid progressions in bench press or deadlift. When they reach their full potential for strength at about 23 to 25 years old - they just stay at that level. If you would take a cycle with about 300 - 500 testo a week, you easily can increase your weigts in bench 15 - 30kg and deadlift 30kg to 50kg (depends on your age and bodeweight). Never happened.

Anyway - there are about 6 Judoka in my Dojo, who medailled at Grand Prix level, two won against current worldchampions or number 1 worldranking list and one was very close, throwing the number 1 in two different fights for waza-ari but lost in the end.

Conclusion: You can be Top 20 *without using steroids* and win against the very top.

My guess:

There are Judoka taking roids mostly for heavy training load and for recovery but! they have to be from countries with sophisticated medical teams or high level doping experience.
